Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) is changing the lives of thousands of people in Pakistan & its neighbouring countries through its 3 physical rehabilitation centres by providing prosthetics, physical therapy, prosthetic & orthotic support and much more, absolutely free of cost. They cater to individuals with upper and lower limb amputations, polio, stroke, and other neurological conditions, and congenital disabilities like cerebral palsy and club feet.
The reality is millions of Pakistanis are battling the profound challenges of physical disabilities. It's more than just the staggering cost of prosthetics; it's about the ability of how a working parent will now afford food for their families, children robbed of their childhood joys, and families waiting years for a simple doctor's appointment.
IHHN's goal is to enable patients to enhance their daily living skills, elevate their quality of life, and transform them into self-reliant, confident, and contributing members of society.
Meet Mohammad Shahid:
Mohammad Shahid, a 41-year-old provider for his family, faced a nightmare when a minor accident led to a spreading infection. Diagnosed with advanced-stage diabetes, his leg had to be surgically removed, forcing him to quit his physically demanding job as a cardboard collector. Unemployed and unable to afford a prosthetic limb, Shahid struggled for three years until he discovered Indus Hospital's Physical Rehabilitation Center. Fitted with a prosthetic limb and after training sessions, Shahid regained mobility, allowing him to earn a living again.
A parent loses a limb, and the repercussions are profound—their role as the family's breadwinner vanishes, leading to job loss and a struggle for survival.

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) provides quality healthcare absolutely free of cost to millions of deserving patients through its countrywide network of hospitals in Pakistan. Starting with only one hospital in Karachi in 2007, IHHN is now managing multiple tertiary and secondary care Hospitals, Physical Rehabilitation Centers, Regional Blood Centers, Community Health Centers, and a Public Health Program spread across 52 districts of Pakistan.
Indus Hospital’s purpose is to provide indiscriminate, quality healthcare to all in a state-of-art hospital in Pakistan. IHHN is a not-for-profit healthcare system that solely relies on public donations. How is my Zakat money spent? Who is it spent on?
The Zakat donations that we receive from our donors are distributed among Zakat eligible patients for whichever treatment they are receiving from Indus Hospital & Health Network facilities.
What are your guidelines for distributing Zakat Donations?
Indus Hospital provides quality care without any discrimination, free of cost through the support of your Zakat and Donations.
With the help of reputable Sharia Scholars, Indus Hospital (TIH) has developed a criterion to ascertain if Zakat is applicable to a certain individual. Whenever a patient visits Indus Hospital, he/she goes through the assessment with TIH’s welfare officer to determine if the patient is eligible for Zakat or not.
Once the recipient of Zakat is identified, their MR number is marked to signify that the patient’s treatment should be supported from Zakat account. The patient is requested to sign a declaration granting Indus Hospital permission to collect Zakat on their behalf and to use that Zakat to sponsor the treatment of his/her and/or other patients or hospital requirements. Once the patient is discharged, hospital generates an internal bill and sends it to the Zakat Committee for settlement.
